The Sign Advertising the Community Service Hours on the sixth floor of the Viking Union.
We understand that finding ways to plug into the world of community service can be daunting. There's so much out there!
That's why we'll personally help you find the right community service opportunity for your interests, abilities, goals, and schedules!
Both individuals and groups can utilize this service by using this Calendly link to schedule a meeting! Please indicate in your RSVP whether you want the meeting to be virtual or in-person.
For questions or accommodations, email us at as.csc@wwu.edu or call us at (360)-650-4190.
Days of Service
Our first day of service on Giving Tuesday, November 28th, 2023. It was at the Ferndale Food Bank, and in attendance were (from left to right) Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator Jacob O'Donnell, WWU student Israel Avendaño, Leadership Teaching Assistant Andrew Oslin, Community Engagement Fellow Rodrigo Ortiz Mendoza, and WWU student Jessie Yvonne Hill.
One of the biggest hurtles for community service is getting to where it's needed.
So at least once a quarter we provide transportation to service sites throughout Whatcom and Skagit counties.
Stay tuned for upcoming days of service by following our Instagram or on our newsletter.
Community Service Center Newsletter
Twice a month, we email students and other interested members of the campus community a newsletter announcing our upcoming events, new volunteer opportunities, and more.
You can sign up for our newsletter by taking our interest survey.

Volunteer Hours Tracking and Reflection
We utilize Western Involvement Network to help students keep track of what they've done for thier community by both allowing them to track hours and reflect on what they did.
WIN Experience Requests allow you to keep track of how many hours you volunteered, what you did, and how serving the community helped you grow.
Each experience will go on your Involvement Record, which you can then consult when building your application materials for internships, jobs, and more!
How to submit an experience request:
Please also continue to keep track of your community service through our Experience Request feature on WIN:
Go WIN.WWU.EDU and sign in with your student login credentials.
Navigate to your profile picture or icon at the top right of the page.
In the drop-down menu, click on "experiences."
Click "new experience."
Fill out the form.
The experience will show up on your Involvement Record (automatically generated online resumè that shows everything you've been involved in at Western).
